Bredgar Village Study
Yr 5 & 6 pupils from 13 Kent primary schools attended a Census 1911 Activity Day at Bredgar Primary School
It was a fully supported springboard for two activities:
(1) Using artefacts, buildings, film, photographs, maps & census data to build up a picture of the village of Brdedgar in 1911
(2) Taking a real family from the 1911 census (the Bells) and constructing a piece of accurate historical fiction about them

Blitz, Bombs and Evacuation
A fully supported 2-day historical investigation and writing activity for Yr 5 & 6 pupils in 3 stages:
(1) On-line research into evacuation
(2) Video conference interviews with real-life evacuees
(3) A written report to Prime Minister Winston Churchill that asnswered the question, “Should the government help organise another evacuation of children from London and the South-East in 1944?”

Used data from the 1901 Census and other sources to enable pupils to become "History Detectives" and tackle a famous murder mystery
