This year is the 100th anniversary of the maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic. To mark the event the Southampton SeaCity 2012 Museum opens its doors to the public in 2012. Situated next to the Civic Offices the new Museum £15 million pound “state of the art” museum will host until 2013 the exhibition “Titanic – The legend.” The largest display about the Titanic ever seen in the British Isles over 2 million visitors are expected to visit Southampton and the SeaCity Museum in 2012.

Other planned educational trips for autumn 2012 onwards

All the days listed below will be led by the H2L Team

World War I – Travel by coach and ferry/Eurostar to the battlefield at Ypres Salient. Later in the day stand beneath the Menin Gate and let your pupils cast their eyes across the landscape that shaped the history of Europe.

Houses of Parliament Gunpowder Plot visit – Step inside the Houses of Parliament. Learn about the history of government in the British Isles. Has the system changed dramatically since the Middle Ages? Why did Guy Fawkes and the conspirators plan to kill the king in 1605? The visit to London will answer these and many other questions. A great day out for pupils of all ages!

History around us
Planning a visit to an English heritage property or site in Kent or Sussex? Then contact and invite us to create a spectacular activity day for your pupils involving group activities and the examination of artifacts.
Venues include: Bayham Abbey, Battle and 1066, Dover Castle, Pevensy Castle, Richborough Roman Fort and Rochester Castle.
