The Census project is an opportunity for pupils to research their and learn about the important historical, social and technological changes that have taken place over the last 150 years. To promote the project findmypast is offering schools until the end of the summer term (July 31st. 2012) 3 months free access to the 1911 census online database.
Improving pupils literacy skills
Pupils in schools across South-East England are using the census and other online resources to research and develop their enquiry and literacy skills. Click on the links below to view and read the reports from two of the schools in the "Kent Schools' Pilot Project.

We run half and full day workshops for individual schools, local partnerships and LA's. A full day includes the 7 sessions listed below.

What can our parents and granparents tell us about the past? - Oral storytelling, Interviewing adults, using questionnaires to gather information
Publishing and sharing our learning with others - Publishing your pupils work on the Internet, in print or on CD
